  • I had to share this...

So as most of you know I am on staff at my church...I answer the phones and other random things that need to be done.  Our church is in the middle of a transition phase changing.  One of the changes is we are bring on a new Pastor and he will be the Next Generation Pastor, over all of the next Generation.  It is very cool.  Why am I telling you this well today we got an email from him telling us he is very excited to meet all of us in 2 weeks when he comes to visit.  He also asked us if there is anything he can do for us during the transiton...well Brenda Cochran (our Counseling Pastor)  Sent this to him...

We are all excited to meet you as well!

Here are some things you may want to do to help make the transition:

    Buy some “crocks”

Buy some Cargo Pants (just above the knee is best)

Learn to like the shows Project Runway or The Office

    Keep your sense of humor

    Like food

Buy a house with some sort of water feature in the back yard (pool, spa or giant sprinkler you can sit under)

    Buy some sun screen

Buy some extra batteries for your car (they go bad every other year or so)

I’m sure the rest of the team will be able to think of some other things… but this should be a good start.

FYI: He is moving from Texas, but he use to live here when he was a youth pastor.  I guess you can say that these are the things that it takes to be on Pure Heart Staff.  We like to have fun!

Now here is a response from Stace...

The Office and Project Runway!!  Yuck!  What happened to the American Idol fans we used to have?  Anyone still following that when it’s on?  How about Heroes anyone?

Water features at the house a major yes!

I don’t even own any crocks, so can’t help you there.

Sense of humor a must, or schedule ahead of time to see Brenda on a regular basis.

Enjoy having your office decorated for your birthday (thank you Rachel)!

Remember, Dan is the joke guy!

    Anyone else?

    *edit*

And Carla Goody had something to add...

Okay, we know you lived here before, so life shouldn't be a total shock to
you, but here are a couple more things you should know:

However hot and miserable you remember summer being...it's actually worse.
But, winter is better than you remember, so be glad you're moving in
January and can enjoy it before the A/C bills kick in.

Your children will become "Charlie the Cat" fans (it's okay that you have
no idea what that is, I'll make sure they do!)

If you visit the youth on Sunday mornings, be prepared to be grossed out
first thing by Nate's "Would you rather..." icebreakers (Would you rather
eat a live bug or get bitten by a snake?)

Nate also names everything.  Our question jar is "Big Bertha", and our
change drive jar was "Jorge".  Just a warning.  The kids actually love it.
(By the way, naming our winter ski trip "CRASH" had better not be an
    omen...)

Not only is a sense of humor required here, but corny jokes, bad singing
and way too much food are a way of life.  Be ready to laugh and eat.

We're really looking forward to meeting you!

I love being on Staff it is so much fun!

  • Got the Idea from the Wonderful Shayna Lyn Ault...

    Dip for Tortilla chips...

    Step 1:

You have 2 choices you could either shred chicken from a can or shred a chicken you cooked up yourself...

    Step 2:

put the chicken in a oven safe casserole bowl of your choosing.

    Step 3:

Add Cream cheese and Blue Cheese...

    then...

    Step 4:

the best part add buffalo sauce to the bowl...

    Step 5:

Stir all those together until everything is evenly distributed in the casserole bowl...

Put it in the oven for 20 mins on 350

    Step 6:

take it out spread cheese on top and put it back in the oven for about 5 mins or until it is melted to your liking.

    Grab you chips and enjoy!

    mmmmmmmm...it is yummy.

FYI the more buffalo sauce you put in the spicer it is.

    Enjoy!

  • Wow it has been exactly a month since I have updated!

So I have a new car, tomorrow will be a full week of having it, I love it!  it is very small and cute!  Rachi loves it too she enjoys driving it.  Things for me have been going fairly well for me.  I have enjoyed the last few weeks hanging out with the Kekic's they have been like a second family.  this past week was Brieonna's birthday so we celebrated that which was a blast.  Dave (the husband) has come up with a nickname for me...moonchild...see the thing behind that is quite funny.  When Rachi and I are at church we have had so many people ask if I am her eldest daughter, we just laugh.  See the thing is if I was she would have be 17 if she was my mother so that is where he came up with moonchild, they have enjoyed very much calling me that.  but shh don't tell my mother she would be furious.  If you want to know why, just ask me and I will tell you don't quite want to go into that right now.  So life has been very enjoyable.

Roommate and I are doing amazing, after a little talk we had and me letting go, things have been going much better.  [Shayna that was for you if you were wondering how things were going]  I just take one day at a time.  Christmas is right around the corner and I am very excited, I love Christmas.  I can't wait to decorate my apartment.

okay i don't know what more to say, if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Ya'll that still read this...have a wonderful blessed week!

    ciao.
